About OSHA Dental Ultra™:
Specifically designed for dental office environments, OSHA Dental Ultra™ addresses the concerns of bloodborne pathogen transmission unique to dental environments while maintaining OSHA compliance. It should be stated that OSHA federal law applies to all dental facilities where reasonably anticipated occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens may occur. Although many dental practices believe they are exempt from OSHA’s mandated bloodborne pathogens initial and annual training requirements, they are not! Saliva in dental procedures is considered “Other Potential Infectious Materials (OPIM)” by OSHA and deemed hazardous to dental healthcare professionals. OSHA Dental Ultra™ will not only establish/maintain OSHA compliance at your facility but will educate your employees on how to minimize/eliminate occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens while performing their tasks.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a protective health component for dental healthcare professionals (DHCP) is an integrated dental practice infection-control program. The objectives are to educate DHCP regarding the principles of infection control, identify work-related infection risks, institute preventive measures, and ensure prompt exposure management and medical follow-up.

OSHA Dental Ultra™ is your pathway to installing safer dental healthcare practices at your facility. Each of your employees will receive comprehensive training including potential sterilization problems associated with:

  • Improper cleaning of instruments
  • Improper packaging
  • Wrong packaging material for the method of sterilization
  • Excessive packaging material
  • Improper loading of the sterilizer
  • Overloading
  • No separation between packages or cassettes even without overloading
  • Improper timing and temperature
  • Incorrect operation of the sterilizer

There are many reasons why you need to train your employees on the dangers of bloodborne pathogen transmission within dental settings beyond OSHA’s mandated requirement, the first being employee health. OSHA Dental Ultra™ enables your dental practice to heighten employee awareness of recognizable hazards specific to dental procedures, creating a safer workplace. Although the chief objective of OSHA Dental Ultra™ is to establish/maintain OSHA bloodborne compliance; our secondary goal is to change the behavior of your employees through a balance of an impactful and highly specific array of information which teaches each employee safer work practices. If an employee is aware of the consequences associated with poor judgment while working with blood and given an alternative means to practice safer medicine, we expect they will opt for safer healthcare practices.

OSHA Dental Ultra™ is based on the latest OSHA regulations and science related to the dental industry and is considered by most as the premier OSHA dental training program on the market today!

As with all our OSHA healthcare compliance training programs, OSHA Dental Ultra™ can be administered through the traditional means of utilizing an instructor to deliver our information or it can be administered as a “self-study” program where each employee can learn at their own pace.

Please note: using our program in the self-study mode does not require purchasing Microsoft PowerPoint™.
